Schlepping our bags

The last few big trips we took, we went on tours where someone else was paid to schlep our bags.

Note: I asked Woody where the term schlepping originated. Unless I'm spelling it wrong, my phone keeps trying to change the spelling.

He thinks Steve Norton came up with that word.  Real word or not, I like it.

Anyway, this trip is a do it yourself trip.  I booked everything, we are deciding what we want to do and the duration.  With that independence comes schlepping your own bags.

When we arrived in Paris I couldn't get my phone to work to schedule a Uber and we didn't have Euros for a taxi.  So, as Woody said, it is JUST a mile to our hotel.

We walked to the hotel dragging and packing our (overpacked) bags in the Paris streets. It wasn't too bad because the weather is finally cooler.  I was in a total sweat though when we made it to the hotel.

Note 2:  I have sweated more in Europe than I have in Texas.  That's just not right.

So, we checked in, rested and then went for a long walk...in the rain.

We saw this on our walk.  We thought something.

This last picture is the view from our balcony.

And finally, the step tally for the day is 10,269.  Not nearly as much as the last two days but enough for me.  And my blister is is growing.
