It was a hectic morning. Up at 3:00am, 30 minute bus ride to the Bergen airport at 3:45 am. Next we had a problem. The fancy luggage conveyer system was busted. We stood in an unmoving line forever it seemed. Somehow they got things working and we all boarded a packed flight. The pilot actually got us to Amsterdam early.
Of course our connection was at the other end of this huge airport. Took a lot of hustle and sweat but we made our connection. Yeah, on the way home!!!
A few minutes ago I looked out of my window and saw an awesome sight. Greenland was really really beautiful! And now we are flying over the icy ocean before we get to Canada. Amazing.
Finally we are home. The airport in Houston was a breeze. Can’t wait to see all of our babies.

Bergen, Norway
Last day! We are both ready to see our animals so it is time to go home.
This morning we had a bus tour of Bergen by Luigi, an Italian living in Norway. He spoke broken English and had to ask the Norwegian bus driver a lot of questions. Needless to say, not impressed. I can’t speak three languages but I’m not a tour guide either.
Oh well, the city is of course beautiful and the weather is nice. Our cruise director said he has not ever been to Bergen when it wasn’t raining. Good weather followed us this whole glorious trip!!!
The only thing of interest I saw during my bad bus tour was the Architecture school. It is in the ugliest building in this city...pretty funny I think. The picture is the one that looks like a concrete building with a peach colored bottom.
This afternoon we went to the little wooden houses next to the wharf. They look and feel like they are ready fall down. They are leaning pretty good. I am posting a picture of the steps I went up to a Christmas shop. They were crazy crooked. Anyway, the buildings are filled with cute little shops so it was a nice stroll.
We also went thru the fish market. I don’t eat seafood so it smelled really bad to me but for a normal person, probably not so much. The people inside were very friendly.
Now we are back in our room packing two+ weeks worth of stuff so we can go home. Our bus leaves at 3:45 am tomorrow. Painful.

Eidfjord, Norway
We have arrived to the land of Frozen (Disney). We cruised thru a fjord and now are docked in a very small place with, oddly enough a very big Quality Inn right beside the dock.
We didn’t plan any exotic excursions here, but now I wish we had. The only activity today was a bus ride to a beautiful nature center. We saw a proper movie (unlike the Oil Kid) and then just relaxed with two Aussie couples in the nice weather. Speaking of Aussie friends, they first went on a pre tour to Iceland. Next they will go on a post trip to Oslo. After that they will spend two more weeks going to Germany and Poland. They said the flight here is so painful they do a lot when they get here. Man oh man, I sure couldn’t do two more weeks after this. Too much traveling (Leon).
The most amusing thing at the nature center were the goats on the grass roof. That made me homesick. Of course the scenery is beautiful, with mountains, water and snow. I could just visualize Anna, Elsa and Olaf in this place!!!
