Aalborg, Denmark

Today is another beautiful day in Aalborg, Denmark. Everybody tells us that the weather we are having at each stop is not normal. Usually it is raining and cold...somehow we are following a good weather pattern. That is something!

We toured this little town with a college student studying geography. He said Viking about every other word but pronounced it Why-King. His tour was only mildly interesting. He was smart and amusing but at this point I think I’m in overload mode about who conquered whom, when and why they built things, important buildings...etc. It is interesting still but at this point I think I just want to admire the scenery. He did say something I found amusing. While looking at a church, someone asked what religion is most common here. He said Christmas, Easter and living life right is most common.

So, we followed the tour for two hours then broke off for a Sprite Zero hunt. I’m not sure how far we walked but it was long way. First we stopped at a Danish market but didn’t have any luck, only local stuff there. Next a market in a mall where we cleaned the shelves of the stuff.

Oh and Chris inquired about our ketchup status. No worries, we bought plenty in Finland. Good thing because there was no Heinz in both markets, only Danish brands.

We again fine dined at Burger King for $32....things are really expensive in this little place for some reason.

Now, back on the ship for a nap then spa appointments this evening....ahhhhhh, that’s proper vacationing!!

Footnote: I just got back from the spa...a Swedish massage by a six foot Swedish woman (Viking). I’d like to take her home as a souvenir. Woody is with her now. As I said, proper vacationing for sure!
