Today we have perfect weather (60) for this cute little medieval city. We started off the day with a three hour guided hike through the city. A bus took us to the highest point then we walked down the cobblestone narrow streets that had zero traffic. A very pleasant morning for sure.
Intersting facts about Estonia:
1. Skype was started here. They are pretty internet savvy here, they even vote online.
2. Faberge, jeweler who created the Faberge egg, was born here. He moved to St. Petersburg but the locals still claim him in Estonia.
After lunch we went back to shop and look around some more. Woody arranged a buggy ride in old town. Woody said we should wave like the royalty because everybody stopped to look and take pictures.
The ship has just left the port (8:30pm). We have a day at sea tomorrow while we travel to Poland. Since we don’t drink, I’m not sure how we will fill the day. I know one thing for sure, I’m not getting up at 6am.

This place looks like a village in a Disney princess cartoon. Did Teddy Teets wear the red scarf to help you identify him from afar, or was that part of his regular Spring wardrobe lineup?
ReplyDeleteViking made him wear that scarf to make him easy to spot for all the old fogies in the group. He was our border collie.
ReplyDeleteTeet went right into a explanation of his name. He said YES, I know what it sounds like but it's my name. He was quick to point out that it means Ted.
He was a real cool guy, teaches at the university during the week works as a tour guides on weekends. We met his mother in law touring a Viking group too.
And yes, a Disney place for sure!
