Before we left, Beth advised me to get an international medical insurance supplement like she has, along with Viking insurance. Turns out, she did need the insurance. She was dizzy and nauseated (not a virus) so this morning we had the first ever visit to the ship doctor. We both thought the ship nurse seemed more competent than the Russian doctor but, she did get treated. That was interesting. It is like a mini hospital down there. Beth texted Abby and she agreed with the treatment so we are hopefully good to go tomorrow morning.
I called the insurance company, just so we would know ahead of time if cruise medical treatment was covered. It is all reimbursable once the claim is submitted so that was a relief. She was going to get medical treatment, covered or not but it was nice knowing it was going to get paid. Now we are betting on the amount. I said $500, she thinks $1,000. It hasn’t posted on her account yet. I let you know the results.
I used the time to do laundry and lounge all day. I had to do the washing twice because I didn’t hold down the soap button long enough to activate because the instructions were confusing. Anyway, I got it done.
Of all the ports, I think Marseilles was the one to miss. It has a very high crime rate. I’m sure we would have gone to safe touristy places but we are ok with missing this one. Tomorrow we go to Monte Carlo, that’s the stop I’m waiting for. We have a private van hired to pick us up at the port.
Anyway, a slow day on the ship but our clothes are clean and most importantly, Beth feels much better.
Good night.
