We had another great day in Vancouver. The weather has been absolutely perfect and the views are beautiful.
We started the morning driving thru Stanley park. It’s a pretty, clean park that according to Charles the tour guide, has no crime. It’s hard to believe but the whole city looks so wholesome. No homeless or dangerous looking folks anywhere, at least in our area.
Next we drove to Horseshoe Bay. It was another pretty little place. We had a view of the huge traffic jam of folks waiting for the ferry to Victoria. I was real happy that we were not in that line. They were gonna be parked for hours. Also, Jane spotted a seagull with a starfish in it’s mouth. That was amusing.
A short drive later, we arrived at Shannon Falls. We had to hike up a huge trail to see it. It was well worth it. It looked magical. Jane took pictures so she can paint it.
Our final destination was Whistler mountain. We rode the gondola (in a car all to ourselves) to the top of the mountain. There was snow still on the peaks and the weather was chilly. We had lunch with the best view ever. After a little shopping, we boarded a gondola to the next mountain where the Olympics were held in 2010. When we rode back the gondola had a glass bottom. After that, back down to mountain in another gondola.
I can’t remember the last time I rode in a gondola before this trip. So far, we have had six rides and the trip is only three days old!
Anyway, back to our room after a very long but enjoyable day. We both need a little down time after the last two days. We board the ship tomorrow morning, leave at 4:30pm and we will be at sea on Sunday. These will be our recovery days. The only thing we have scheduled are spa appointments on Sunday afternoon. That’s proper touristing!
So, we are in our room excited about our cruise tomorrow. Vancouver has been amazing but it’s time to move on.
This was Charles our tour guide.
